The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has finally announced the dates and venues for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023. India accepted Pakistan’s proposed hybrid model following the latest ACC meeting, ending long-standing concerns over the continental event. According to this, four matches will be played in Pakistan and other matches will be played in Sri Lanka.
Six countries will participate in the tournament which will be held from August 31 to September 17. India, Pakistan and Nepal are in one group. Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are in the other group.
If we look at India’s likely squad for the Asia Cup, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill will be the openers in the team. Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav and KL Rahul will be in the middle order. Malayalee player Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan will be the wicket keepers of the team.
Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel and Deepak Hooda will be the all-rounders in the team. Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav will be the spinners. Mohammad Shami and Mohammad Siraj will be in the pace line. It is not yet clear whether Jasprit Bumrah and Shreyas Iyer will return from injury.
