Pancreatic cancer threatens the life of the patient (Abu Ali – Yemeni), who is 71 years old, and he is currently in need of chemotherapy of the type used to treat cancer, in addition to a wheelchair and a medical bed.
The cost of treating a patient at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City Hospital in Abu Dhabi is 11,450 dirhams. However, his family’s modest financial capabilities prevent them from securing this amount.
The sick son appealed to the good people to extend a helping hand to his family members, and help them pay the costs of their father’s treatment as soon as possible, because the delay will double the risk to his life.
And medical reports obtained by «Emirates Today» confirmed that the patient was admitted to the hospital suffering from severe stomach pain, with loss of appetite and inability to eat. After conducting tests and analyzes, it was found that there was a cancerous tumor in the pancreas.
The reports confirmed that he needs doses of chemotherapy, in addition to a wheelchair and a medical bed, adding that the cost of his chemotherapy and medical supplies amounts to 11,450 dirhams, but his family’s financial capabilities do not allow securing the amount.
The patient is waiting for people with merciful hearts to extend a helping hand to him and help him pay the costs of his chemotherapy.
The patient’s son (Abu Ali) tells Emirates Today that his father felt severe stomach pain and a headache with a high body temperature, so he took him to the hospital.
He added, “When we got there, the doctor told us that he had a stomach problem. He reassured us that this was a simple virus, and stressed the need for my father to take antibiotics and analgesics, and to give him some vitamins.
And the son continued, “My father’s health condition improved slightly during this period, until we were surprised by him screaming violently while we were eating lunch, as a result of his feeling terrible stomach pain, so we called the ambulance immediately to take him to the nearest government hospital to us.”
And the son continued: “We arrived at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City Hospital, and my father was admitted to the emergency department for examination by the doctor, so he asked us to perform a CT scan of the area of pain, and to conduct some analyzes and examinations. The doctor told us that there was a tumor in the stomach, but he did not reveal whether it was benign or malignant.
He assured us that he had to take a biopsy of the tumor to check on my father’s health condition. And when the results of the examination appeared, it was found that the tumor was malignant, and that he had pancreatic cancer of the fourth degree, and he must take chemotherapy to reduce the size of the tumor, and he also needs a wheelchair and a special medical bed.
The patient’s son added, “My father needs to start chemotherapy to save his life, but the situation of our family, which consists of five members, is very bad. My older brother is the only breadwinner for the family, and he is currently unemployed and we have no source of income.”
He added, “We are unable to afford the cost of my father’s treatment, and we are afraid that the cancer will spread to the rest of his body and he will lose his life, because the disease is really killing his body.”
He appealed to good people and people with merciful hearts to help his family afford the cost of his father’s treatment and save his life from illness.
