Fatal stampede during a concert by two Argentine bands in Bolivia: a teenager died

A tragic stampede occurred in the last few hours during the presentations of the Argentine cumbia bands Ke Personajes and 18 Kilates in the city of Sucre, in Bolivia. Due to the fact, a 17-year-old teenager died and seven other women were injured.

The episode took place this Saturday at the Lajastambo Fairgrounds, when an uncontrollable avalanche occurred at one of the access doors. It happened at a time when the recital was regarding to begin.

The police forces tried to disperse the crowd with tear gas, which inflamed the public and led to the protesters breaking down the front door of the property.

In this context, according to the local site Opinionthe teenager received a series of blows that caused internal bleeding. The young woman was urgently referred to the San Pedro Claver hospital, but she finally died due to the seriousness of the injuries.

Another seven women were taken to the same hospital and two of them are still hospitalized, one of them, aged 21, with trauma to the chest and abdomen, and the other, aged 45, with polytrauma.

The event organizers they had announced hours before that the tickets had been sold outs for the show that brought together several cumbia bands, including the two Argentine groups. However, they might not prevent dozens of fans have tried to enter without tickets.

The band Ke Personajes, led by Emanuel Noir, performed a few days ago at the Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires, where they drew attention with a version of the Queen classic “Bohemian Rhapsody”. Well-known guest musicians were present, including Abel Pintos and María Becerra.
