We’ve been waiting for this for four long years and now it’s finally just around the corner once more: On Friday, July 7th, the three-day Züri Fäscht starts in the next round. The program is page-long, so choosing where to go is particularly difficult. 20 minutes has looked at the occasions and introduces you to the best ones.
For families
It is well known that the Chilbi makes children’s eyes light up. Not only the hearts of the little ones beat faster, but also those of the grown-ups when the cable cars swing you through the air with the energetic announcement of the Chilbibahn operators. The stands and lanes are distributed at the Züri Fäscht on the Sechseläutenplatz, the Hafendamm Enge, the Bürkliplatz, in front of the Stadthaus, along the Limmatquais and on the Mythenquai.
For the little ones, the Joey crèche on the Rentenwiese offers family fun. Here, children from the age of three can have their face painted, whiz around on the mini train and ride horses in circles on the nostalgic carousel. And if you still have enough energy, you can really let off steam in the bouncy castle.
Another highlight on the Rentenwiese is the Zurich Zoo on Saturday and Sunday followingnoon. Then the children from the age of six are not allowed to ride on horseback, but on camels.
For sports aces and adrenaline junkies
If you are looking for action, the Züri Fäscht is the place for you. On all days of the event, professionals on and above the water cause amazement: while the wakeboarders show off their tricks and jumps on the Limmat between the Münster and Rathaus bridges, the highline professionals balance at a height of 20 meters above the Zurich city river.
It will also be exciting at the Yuh Beachmasters: This is where the best beach volleyball players compete in the Mythenquai lido – strong rallies guaranteed! Another tournament is held on the lake: the Swiss Championships in canoe polo are held between the port of Riesbach and the Blatterwiese. Haven’t you seen this before? Then it’s regarding time – at this year’s Züri Fäscht!
If watching is too boring, you can get active yourself – for example at the SUP Race. Simply register and get on the board! And if that’s not enough action, we have this tip for you: You can fly from Lindenhof to Limmatquai on the zip line!
For party people
Whether it’s Latin, Electro, Hip Hop, Schlager, Afro Beats or Rock music – at the Züri Fäscht there is a party for everyone who likes to party. The Caliente makers provide fiery Latin rhythms on the Münsterhofbühne, while Afro beats can be found on the Schiffländeplatz. If you’re more into electro and techno, drop by Graue Gasse in Niederdorf or visit the Hive outdoor party at the aviary on Lake Zurich.
For hip-hop fans, the Kanzlei Club organizes the right party at the kiosk on Riesbach Island and the party mile of the Wolfs beer hall on Limmatquai makes pop hearts beat faster. And rock lovers can go to the live concerts of the cover bands from Pink Floyd, Queen, The Doors & Co. to their favorite rock classics.
