During a recent interview with Famitsu, Hisashi Nogami, the producer of the Splatoon saga, made some revelations regarding the game’s upcoming DLC The Tower of Order. The gameplay of this new single-player campaign will be completely redesigned for this DLC, giving players a totally new and different experience from what they have known so far.

In this DLC, players will be able to rediscover Chromapolis from a new angle and see the Tentacool, Perle and Marine once more, in a world where order and not chaos would have won the final festival of Splatoon 2.

In the trailer for the Tower of Order, the second DLC of the Splatoon 3 Expansion Pass, we were able to see the Tentacools and Octolings.

Nogami: Yes. As everyone guessed, the Squids and the Octolings will make an appearance. We can’t give details yet, but the Calaamazones will be part of a new story. We are also planning to make the gameplay completely new and different for this DLC, you should be looking forward to playing it.

I wondered if the world would look like this if the order had won le Festival final de Splatoon 2.

Inoue: Yes. We didn’t make that decision from the start, but when we laid out the plans for the Expansion Pass, we thought it would be interesting to create a world in which the Order team would triumph.

By the way, is it Agent 8, the Octoling from the trailer?

Satou: This…still needs some research.

I understand… ! So tell us why Chromapolis was brought back in Wave 1 of the Expansion Pass.

Inoue: A lot of people started playing this series with 2 or 3, and even though they knew 1, we wanted to show those who hadn’t played it before what Chromapolis is like, and the Calaamazones at work.

Was the new Chromapolis designed to reflect the seven years since the release of Splatoon 1?

Inoue: Yes. Just as a place you’ve lived can change a bit following seven years, we’ve made it evoke the feeling of returning to your hometown following a while. It feels like things have changed, but a lot of things have stayed the same. I think despite the nostalgia, you will see some realistic changes that have taken place, such as the station finally being accessible.

And The Tower of Order has not yet revealed its release date, there is no doubt that this interview in Famitsu is only there to raise the sauce before a release…in the coming weeks ?
