Last weekend, the intense heat continued with the strong sun shining under the influence of the high pressure in the West Sea.

After the first heat wave warning of this year went into effect in inland areas such as Gangwon and Jeolla the day before yesterday, a heat wave warning was extended to Seoul and the metropolitan area yesterday.

In Yangyang, Gangwon-do, the lowest temperature between the day before yesterday and last night exceeded 25 degrees, recording tropical nights for two days in a row.

Today, Monday, the heat will be at its peak.

It will be the hottest this year with the highest daytime temperature in Seoul recording 35 degrees, and the whole country will show high temperatures around 22 to 35 degrees, including Cheongju 34 degrees and Daegu 31 degrees.

During the daytime, there are places where the UV index is recorded as ‘very high’, so you should be careful of skin burns when going out.

As the heatwave continues, local governments have entered an emergency work system.

While asking people to refrain from outdoor activities, the Seoul Metropolitan Government plans to keep track of the current status of heat-related illnesses and identify people who are vulnerable to heat waves, such as the elderly living alone.

This heatwave will be dampened by rain starting tomorrow in the Chungcheong and southern regions.
