We learned regarding 48 hours ago that Bradley Beal was apparently not part of the new Wizards “project”. Since everything is linked, inevitably, and this morning it is therefore two franchises which seem to be in the lead to recover the star of Washington.
The Sacramento Kings seemed so close to the file, maybe they still are, but according to some well-informed sources (Shams Sharania of The Athletic, the Miami Herald) … two franchises would hold the rope in view of a potential trade involving Bradley Beal who, as we recall, has in his contract a no trade clausewhich basically allows him to decide everything (refusing a destination, giving his opinion on the package, etc.)
The Miami Heat, who would be willing to put an offer on the table but an offer that would NOT include Tyler Herro (Duncan Robinson, Kyle Lowry, Victor Oladipo and draft round?) and the Phoenix Suns, who would welcome the idea of associating Beal, Booker and Durant while finding there a great opportunity to clear – finally – a sulky Deandre Ayton, but of the Suns who should on a contractual level … play plumbers around this trio.
Whatever happens, a departure of Bradley Beal will cause quite a mess in the NBA, for the two (or more) teams concerned by the trade but also because this exchange may be the first of an important domino, with Fred VanVleet, Chris Paul and even… Damian Lillard as other protagonists.
A huge masterstroke from Pat Riley to bring BB back to Florida without too much damage? Plucked but strong Suns with a sensational Big Three offensively? A third dance franchise? Four days from the Draft and thirteen from the Free Agency, no, we don’t rest, ever.
