Queens Man Arrested for Illegal Gun Possession and Deadly Shooting: Shocking Cache of Weapons Found at Home

A Queens man who fatally shot a mugger near his home in late May stored several dozen firearms at his home.according to the police.

In the photos that were obtained by the New York Post, you can see a cache of at least 30 weapons, nine ammunition magazines and two bulletproof vests.

Authorities say they found at home Charles Foehner at Kew Gardens, a 65-year-old retired doorman who shot dead Cody González, 32, in an attempted robbery at the entrance to his building.

The cache, which officials said featured weapons purchased over decades, it included at least 14 rifles and shotguns, including an AK-47, along with at least 16 handguns.

The marketing manager for Firearms Unknown in Oceanside, California, assessed that the collection would cost between $15,000 and $20,000.

“This is all pretty standard stuff,” Karras said. “It probably took him years to do this, but there’s nothing too impressive.”

Foehner faces eight counts of illegal gun possession by Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz, including the possession of the unlicensed weapon used during the deadly shooting and for maintaining an armory filled with numerous unlicensed firearms, ammunition and body armor.

For her part, Margaret Lin, Foehner’s lawyer, explained to Queens Criminal Court Judge Jerry Lannece that the episode of violence was “a total aberration” in her client’s life.

The man He was released from Rikers Island in early June on $50,000 bail. and is scheduled to return to court on August 16.
