Helga Krismer re-elected as state spokeswoman with a large majority
St. Polten (OTS) – At the 42nd ordinary state congress of the Greens of Lower Austria in Ybbs an der Donau, the 182 delegates re-elected all bodies under the motto “Ready for tomorrow”.
With an impressive result of 91,3 % of the delegate votes was the long-standing state spokeswoman, club chairwoman and vice mayor from Baden, Christmas weekend, confirmed in office. Krismer has held the position of spokeswoman for the Greens of Lower Austria since 2015.
“The black-blue government in Lower Austria is depriving us of another five years. It stands for a policy of asphalting and concreting and thus for a fossil dinosaur policy! Our policy must therefore make claims on itself, to the best of our knowledge and belief and to do everything at the cutting edge of science and technology to improve the world for people. The world will be better if Lower Austria gets a little better with green politics! I am convinced that in these times we need more compassion, foresight and decency than ever before,” said Helga Krismer in her speech to the delegates.
Hikmet Arslan from Neunkirchen, the previous state manager, applied once more for his position and was accepted 89,7 % re-elected by the votes of the delegates. The other members of the state board and the state committee were determined by means of digital voting.
“Ready for tomorrow is our motto today and we are ready for the challenges of the present and the future. In the coming years we have several elections just around the corner, including the elections to the EU Parliament, the National Council elections and the municipal council elections. Together with you activists, members and local councillors, we will meet people where they are. Starting tomorrow, with the new state board and state committee, we will prepare the local council elections in 2025 together with the grass roots and thus set the course for the future,” said Hikmet Arslan in his speech.
Both elections were unopposed. After that, the other members of the board of directors were elected.
