Doha | Qatar businessman and ABL Group Chairman Siddiq Purail said in a press conference that he had no direct involvement in the Monsan Mawunkal case. Siddique Purail said that Yakub Purail, the complainant in the case, was his brother and he believed the words of the accused and gave crores to the accused and fell for their fraud.
Siddique Purail stated that he suspected that Anup, the complainant in the Monson case, had deliberately cheated his brother following being cheated earlier and he had mentioned this to his brother in the first place. He also said that his brother had asked him to be a partner in the transaction related to Monson, but he felt a lack of trust when he came to know regarding the items in the possession of the accused.
When the brother and another complainant, Shamir, demanded money from the accused, he bought the checks and agreement of the complainant, Shamir, and fixed a period of two months and gave a loan of Rs.1 crore to the brother. He said that he had no direct involvement other than that.
The kind of propaganda that all the complainants are frauds is very unfortunate. Some have paid without knowing the fact. Siddique Purail also asked the authorities to take necessary steps to recover the lost money to the victims without taking political advantage of such scams.
Incas Kozhikode district president Vipin, Abbas and Ashraf Vadakara also attended the press conference along with Siddique Purail.
