Carrió prepares his presidential candidacy while banking Santilli in the Province

As has happened on so many other occasions, Elisa Carrió decided to put the campaign of the Civic Coalition on her shoulder and during the week she began to reinforce her presence in the province of Buenos Aires to support Diego Santilli in the PASO once morest Néstor Grindetti and give national support to Horacio Rodríguez Larreta.

“Lilita” has a good relationship with “Colo” and they already shared a campaign team when Santilli headed one of the Juntos por el Cambio legislative ballots in 2021 together with Graciela Ocaña and Juan Manuel López, the current head of the block of deputies of the DC.

“He won it”, they graph from the environment of the reference to show the good bond that both have and that motivates Lilita once more to get in a car to tour the Province in what they anticipate will be a “low cost” campaign.

“There is only one person who can beat Kicillof, and that person is Diego Santilli. He is going to be the next governor of the Province of Buenos Aires”, he posted on social networks.

His presence in Buenos Aires territory aroused suspicions regarding a new possible application for Congress, because the district also elects senators, but that alternative is practically disabled for various reasons. First, because he is “full” with the preparations for his presidential candidacy, in the arduous task of obtaining the necessary guarantees to present himself before the Justice. Second, because he has no intention of occupying a seat once more following his resignation in March 2020, and third, because he once once more changed his address to the City of Buenos Aires, with the idea of leaving his farm in Exaltación de la Cruz and returning to live in the Capital. , “closer to everything” he says.

During the week he visited the municipalities of Azul, Olavarría, Lamadrid and Daireaux maintaining a message oriented to the center in which his support for Horacio Rodríguez Larreta in the presidential race also plays a strong role. Beyond affinities, their positioning in this run-up to the August internships is linked to their antagonisms, in the first place with Patricia Bullrich, who date from those times when they were allies and who were left behind, and also with Cristian Ritondo, close to occupying the first place to national deputy, whom he knew how to call “barrabrava”.

For tomorrow, Monday, he plans to appear with the leaders of the CC in the municipality of Tigre, with a reinforcement of the media presence during the week.

The block of the Coalition in Deputies has ten members, following the departure of Laura Castets from Santa Fe. Of that ten, there are six referents that must renew their banks. Faced with the multiplicity of actors interested in having a place on the lists and the weight that the internal PRO was taking on in the campaign, the main objective of the CC is at least not to lose legislators. Mariana Stilman and Mónica Frade are the two Buenos Aires residents whose mandate is expiring, but there is still no talk of what names the CC will put on Santilli’s ballot. For now, they mark some relief due to the reduction of the floor from 30% to 25% to be able to strain a legislator in the context of the internal ones. In the Buenos Aires Legislature they have two senators who are ending their term: Andrés de Leo, who decided not to renew to be a candidate for mayor of Bahía Blanca, and Elisa Carca and deputy Luciano Bugallo, a benchmark in the agricultural sector.

The Buenos Aires Coalition has already rallied behind the campaign message “We want the same” that brings together several pending issues in the district such as health, education, work and security and yesterday they already unified the publications on social networks with the rest of the PRO partners.

The CABA factor. With the confirmation of Jorge Macri’s nomination over Fernán Quirós, the Civic Coalition withdrew part of its militant force at least for these weeks. “We are not going to put stones in the way, but we are not going to go as far as with Quirós,” they explain from Lilita’s command, who has a historic dispute with Jorge Macri. There the current head of the national CC Maximiliano Ferraro ends his term, who has not yet given any indication of his vocation to renew, and Mariana Zuvic. With a competitive internal with Martín Lousteau for head of government, which means two separate ballots and only twelve seats in total to distribute among all the forces, it is almost unattainable for the CC to retain those two places in Buenos Aires.
