Creative and uncomplicated: The “3 Days of Design” in Copenhagen took place at the beginning of June and attracted a lot of people young designer, labels and design enthusiasts. It has long been considered a style and Design Metropolis of Northern Europe and the Danish capital rightly bears the title. New ways, fresh ideas
The American Hardwood Export Council (abb AHEC) came up with a special exhibition: three young designers from Scandinavia – Pia Högman, Anne Brandhøj and Maria Øfstedal Eng – were each to deal with a little-used American hardwood species. The three creative people should try it out, discover the special properties of the types of wood – red oak, maple and cherry – and translate them for themselves. The idea behind the project is to publicize American wood species.
There was news from Joachim Kornbek-Engell Hansen, Design & Brand Director and grandson of the Menu founder: In the future, the brands Menu and byLassen put together and form I dare Copenhagen. Under the new label, emphasis is placed on working with hip designers such as Colin King and Danielle Siggerud, but iconic designs such as the Kubus Collection by architect Mogens Lassen and the Plinth Collection by Norm Architects have also been retained.
The textile specialist Kvadrat, in turn, asked the French Designer Inga Sempé to grab the pen. Together with creative director Isa Glink, she designed the “Multiply” curtain collection, consisting of 16 sample and plain models. Sensual twists give the collection its character and the individual designs multifaceted.
The porcelain label cooperated for “The Art of Hosting”. Royal Copenhagen with furniture manufacturer glass and presented a lavishly laid table: hand-painted porcelain meets the eye iconic Eames Chairs and Nordic blue – you’d like to take a seat right away.
