The Automobile Club of Germany (AvD) and Kia Germany are now jointly involved in the “Hero of the Road” campaign. From now on, the cooperation partners are looking for selfless heroes every month who have saved lives or mitigated the consequences of accidents through their exemplary actions. The campaign is supported by the magazine Auto Road Traffic.
For more than a decade, the AvD campaign in Germany has been honoring a person every month who has protected or saved human lives on the road with special effort. At the end of the year, a jury, which now also includes Kia and Auto Road Traffic, selects the “Hero” or “Heroine of the Year” from the monthly winners.
Kia is supporting the campaign as part of its Kia Flex subscription service, with which new cars can be subscribed to at an all-inclusive rate for a certain period of time. The “Road Hero 2022”, Stefan Rittger from Burglengenfeld, as the winner of the year, will now receive a Kia Stonic for six months including a fuel allowance of 250 euros per month. The elementary school teacher had prevented a serious accident with his courageous intervention on a bus ride to the school camp.
All future “Heroes of the Month 2023” can expect a Kia Sportage plug-in hybrid for two weeks plus fuel costs of 250 euros per award. The “Hero of the Road 2023” to be selected at the end of the year can look forward to a Kia Niro EV for 12 months plus a Kia Charge charging card including a charging budget of 250 euros per month.
