The journalist, Jaber Al-Qarmouti, presented a special episode of the “Manshet” program broadcast on CBC channel, from inside the Church of the Virgin Mary in Sakha, Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate, and met with the pastor of the church and spoke regarding its relationship with the Holy Family.
The pastor of the Church of the Virgin Mary in Sakha explained the interior details of the church, saying: “We have an icon of the Virgin Mary and we put candles in front of it, and this means that the person who puts a candle lights his way, as lighting candles is a religious and spiritual ritual that indicates sacrifice for the sake of others.”
The church’s pastor explained, “In 1968, we found the remains of the bodies of some saints dating back to the seventh century AD, and we have in the church a stone bearing the footprint of Christ.”
Journalist Jaber Al-Qarmouti held a friendly session with the children of the church, in a friendly talk regarding the church and its internal rituals.
