St. Polten (OTS) – “We stand for a strong Europe. Every fifth job in Lower Austria depends on exports – this alone shows how important the EU is for us. But one thing is certain: it must focus more on its old strengths – namely freedom, peace and prosperity in the member countries. Apparently, this not only requires a rethinking in Brussels, but also in many domestic party organizations,” NÖAAB state manager Matthias Zauner shows little understanding of today’s broadcast by Green MP Georg Ecker.
“An alliance of sensible people is urgently needed. The Greens would be well advised not to blindly endorse all developments in the European Union. Many of the measures, bans and standards ignore the reality of people’s lives – most recently, for example, the ban on combustion engines, which has been the subject of much debate in many member countries. In fact, many of these ideas, which are discussed once more and once more, endanger many jobs in Europe. We don’t need a union of bans and penalties, but a union of freedom and competitiveness – that’s what people rightly expect from it,” said Zauner.
