Spain refused to issue visas to the youth wrestling team of Russia, who planned to take part in the European Championship. This was announced by the President of the Russian Wrestling Federation Mikhail Mamiashvili. TASS.
“Today, Spain refused to issue visas to our team under 20 to participate in the European Championship – the whole team, all coaches, all specialists,” Mamiashvili said. He also added that “the team is participating in the under-17 championship in Albanian Tirana, where everyone was admitted, and the team has already brought medals, and there are still several days of competition ahead.”
The championship will be held in the city of Santiago de Compostela from June 26 to July 2.
Earlier, the United World of Wrestling (UWW) allowed Russian and Belarusian athletes to compete under its auspices in a neutral status.
