Sending video messages on WhatsApp is a simple process and similar to sending audio messages. The microphone icon is replaced by the video icon in every chat, allowing users to send audio or video messages to their contacts.

What is the process?

1. Open WhatsApp and select a chat.

2. Touch the microphone or video camera icon located to the right of the typing bar.

3. Record the video and send it to the recipient.

According to WaBetaInfo, video messages will be protected with end-to-end encryption, which guarantees the privacy of users. Besides, WhatsApp will block the option to forward video messages on the platform. However, it’s important to note that you can’t stop people from screen recording to save the video.

Although the details regarding the duration of the videos and the editing features are not yet known, the app is expected to offer basic trimming, pausing and other editing features to improve the user experience.
