Intel Core

One of the main changes for the Intel Core family is the removal of the letter “i” from the names of the processors. This means that the Core i3, i5, i7 and i9 models will be called Core 3, 5, 7 and 9. The changes will affect both the text and the company’s logo.

Intel further reinforced that the will no longer put a message with the generation in front of the Intel Core brand, either in marketing or in the component itself. In turn, the generation will still be called by the processor number – for example, “Intel Core 5 ##xx”.

All changes will apply to next-generation products, starting with the Meteor Lake family, starting in the second half of 2023.

Intel Core Ultra

In addition to the reformulation of CPUs that were already known, the company launched a new brand for more advanced processors: Intel Core Ultra. This lineup has been expected since previous leaks and will focus on top-of-the-line models on offer for customers.

Like the more modest models, Ultra processors may also come combined with Intel Arc graphics. They will still follow the same mold for naming, such as “Intel Core Ultra 5 ##xx”.

Intel Evo is Intel vPro

The company has also applied changes to other brands in its portfolio. The Intel Evo Edition platform has evolved and will now be referred to as “Evo-verified” designs. That is, with Intel Evo certification.

In turn, the professional line will now have the introduction of Intel vPro Enterprise and Intel vPro Essentials devices, depending on the relevance of commercial systems.
