Dubai, June 15, WAM/ Participants in the Human Resources Forum, in its second session for the year 2023, discussed best practices in the happiness of employees in the Dubai government, which was organized by the Human Resources Department of the Government of Dubai, with the participation of human resources officials in government departments.
During the forum, a panel discussion was organized in which a number of specialists participated on how the Dubai government can make employees happy, in addition to several lectures by international and Emirati specialists, which focused on lessons from the leader in happiness and positivity, and how to ensure the leadership of our human resources, and the development of energy and well-being to prosper in work and life.
His Excellency Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, Director General of the Human Resources Department of the Government of Dubai, stressed that happiness in the work environment is one of the elements of success and excellence that the UAE seeks, as it is keen to enhance the quality of life in the work environment, and positivity in government agencies.
He said that the Dubai Government Human Resources Department is keen to maintain a healthy and happy work environment in government departments, to make employees happy and to enhance their interaction with the aim of increasing productivity and providing high-level services, in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. “May God protect him,” who says, “You must achieve happiness for your employees so that they can achieve happiness for society.”
His Excellency Abdullah Al Falasi added that the Dubai Government Human Resources Department launched many initiatives and programs that contributed to empowering Dubai government employees, making them happy, raising their levels of job satisfaction and harmony, and developing their spirit of creativity and innovation.
Her Excellency Iman bin Khatim, Executive Director of the Policies and Programs Sector at the Dubai Government Human Resources Department, said that the Dubai government is keen to enhance awareness in government agencies regarding the basic factors affecting building a culture of happiness and quality of life in the work environment, and the positive effects of this environment on efficiency, performance and productivity. employees.
She added that the Dubai Government Human Resources Department works in accordance with the vision of the wise leadership to establish a culture of happiness in the work environment in government agencies in Dubai, and coordinates and cooperates with government agencies to adopt the concepts of physical, mental and emotional concern for employees, as it forms part of their happiness, realizing that happiness enhances One of the competitiveness of the Dubai government, which increases the loyalty and satisfaction of employees and increases their productivity.
Participants in the second session of the 2023 Human Resources Forum discussed best practices in employee happiness in the Dubai government, where His Excellency Dr. Bin Rashid Al Maktoum is the driving force for the development of government performance in Dubai, and that the Dubai Government Excellence Program is the first program for government excellence in the world, and aims to achieve leadership for the Dubai government through excellence and innovation, applying best practices in the government sector, and providing a positive and stimulating work environment for excellence Innovation and readiness for the future.
He said that there are several axes and standards for the government excellence system, the most prominent of which is the distinctive value axis, whose most prominent criteria are human capital and Emiratisation, which the Dubai government attaches great importance to as it works to discover professional talents and manage them in a professional manner, and work to prepare government human resources for future jobs and develop and implement An integrated plan for Emiratisation, in addition to empowering and enhancing the role of women, providing a happy, healthy, safe and appropriate work environment, and enhancing skills and competencies.
He reviewed the study of employee happiness for the Dubai government, which aims to improve the work environment in government agencies in the Emirate of Dubai, enhance the concept of happiness and job well-being, measure the happiness of employees in each government agency, and provide government agencies with comprehensive reports showing strengths and areas for improvement with regard to employee happiness, and understanding the opinions of employees. Employees and their suggestions regarding the mechanisms and policies applied in government agencies, in addition to providing the Dubai Government Human Resources Department with a comprehensive report of the results of the study showing strengths and areas for improvement at the level of Dubai government.
In his lecture, His Excellency Dr. Mansour Al Awar, President of Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University, reviewed the book of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, “Reflections on Happiness and Positivity”, in which His Highness dealt with the concepts of happiness and positivity from new angles, and His Highness developed a set of administrative reflections on happiness. and positivity, and their impact on achievement, production and creativity, and their role in enhancing team spirit, and how they can be used in planning and policy-making, and developing services, and their importance for the leader in formulating visions and strategies, and others to achieve administrative and leadership successes.
Dr. Al-Awar said that in order for us to understand this book well, and to comprehend the deep meanings it entails, we must first understand the scientific meaning of what it contains of basic concepts represented in happiness and positivity and the relationship between them, and their impact on production and productivity. And other related concepts such as positive energy.
He highlighted the leader’s vision of happiness and positivity, presented all aspects related to this vision, and dealt with a number of lessons learned, and said that His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid was able, in the book “Reflections on Happiness and Positivity”, to define the basic milestones on the path to happiness and positivity for all officials. In the administrative apparatus of the state, whatever their position on the ranks of the career ladder, and that everyone who is aware of the lessons learned from this book and applies them with a conscious understanding to the practical reality will realize happiness that facilitates a distinct start on the path of positivity and success.
Claire Bosque, a global expert in customer experience and winner of several international awards, spoke regarding the power of happiness: developing energy and well-being to thrive in work and life, and said that leaders have an 89% responsibility for providing a safe and positive work environment, and that more than 98% of the most engaged employees believe that their workplace helps them feel a sense of belonging to their company and its culture.
During the forum, a panel discussion was organized entitled: How can the Dubai government make employees happy, in which: Ahmed Al-Kandari, Senior Advisor, at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment, Lt. and quality of life in the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs Dubai, during which the discussion focused on the importance of providing a happy and positive work environment in all government agencies to motivate employees to innovate and be creative in performing the tasks assigned to them.
