As the 2023 edition of Wimbledon is fast approaching, the London tournament will offer record prize money to participants, namely more than 52 million euros to be shared.

After a few rather complicated years linked to the Covid-19 pandemic, which affected the world in 2020, certain sections of the economy are gradually recovering. This is particularly the case with regard to the endowments of the four Grand Slam tournaments in tennis. Indeed, a few days before the start of Wimbledon (which will take place from July 3 to 16), the organizers announced this Wednesday the prize money for the next big tournament of the season. ” The All England Club is pleased to announce that the prize pool for the 2023 edition will be a record amount of 44,700,000 pounds (approximately 52 million euros). (…) The champions and finalists in women’s and men’s singles will receive respectively 2,350,000 pounds (approximately 2.75 million euros) and 1,175,000 pounds (approximately 1.38 million euros), amounts for these two rounds reaching the sums paid in 2019”, can we read in a press release, published on the official website of the London tournament.

England Club. This record prize money is up 11.2% compared to 2022 and 17.1% compared to the edition before the pandemic, namely in 2019. In addition, the allocation for qualifications has increased by 14.5% in one year, while elimination in the 1st round of the main draw will bring in 10% more than last year.
