At the launch of the final episode of Koh-Lanta: The Sacred Fire, this Tuesday evening on TF1, the games were far from over. Several scenarios were possible. Tania, Frederic and Nicolas, the three finalists of the season each had their chances of winning the adventure and the 100,000 euros promised to the winner.
Winning the posts, Frédéric played the strategy card to the end, even going so far as to go back on his promise to save Nicolas during the posts. By choosing Tania, the commercial managed to curry favor with the final jury and collected the majority of votes, 7 for him, 2 for Tania. He then succeeds François and Bastien, the co-winners of the previous season.

Interviewed by Télé Loisirs, Frederic explains that he expected this victory but that he was not sure of the votes of his comrades. “I thought it was going to be tighter. I was sure of three votes, those of Gilles, Quentin and Nicolas. I knew that Julie and Esteban had voted for Tania, but the rest was a gray area”, explains the adventurer before returning to the reasons for his betrayal of Nicolas. A choice he made when he was on the posts. “In fact, I made this promise to Nicolas when Quentin was eliminated. There were still two of us from our initial alliance. So it was obvious to choose him. But once on the posts, I had the feeling that I was going to win the event. I then wondered if Nicolas was the best choice to win Koh-Lanta. Against him, I had zero chance! He fished, brought us food, he was good on the events, socially everything was going well… Especially since I was exposing myself more during the strategies. So I would have received zero votes! To face Nicolas was to offer him victory. It was to respect my word and lose… or the betray and hope to win.”
Despite everything, the agreement between the two men remained cordial. “We talked regarding it as soon as the game was released, just following the final advice. I wanted to make sure that there was no resentment. He told me that there was no problem and he told me he voted for me. Afterwards, Nicolas remains a competitor. So it’s normal that it sticks in the back of his mind…”
