The platform is revising downwards the conditions of access to its Partner Program. The very one that allows creators to monetize their videos. A change which is not revolutionary, but which remains appreciable.

Things are changing on YouTube. Since yesterday, Tuesday June 13, the platform applies new standards for the monetization of videos. But, contrary to what one might think, the firm is loosening the reins around content creators.

On son site, YouTube indicates that the conditions of access to its Partner Program are now lower. In effect, that means 500 subscribers, 3 public downloads in the last 90 days, and 3,000 hours of viewing in the past year, or 3 million views in the last 90 days. As a reminder, the previous conditions imposed 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 hours of viewing in the past year, or 10 million views in the last 90 days.

The firm does not stop besides in such a good way and takes the opportunity to review the conditions of monetization of the Shorts. So creators now only need 3 million public views of Shorts in 90 days. Against 10 million previously.

Note that the Partner Program also makes it possible to unlock certain financing tools. Among which the Super Thanks, the Super Chat or the Super Stickers. Finally, content creators will be able to promote their own products through YouTube Shopping.

The new conditions currently only apply to 5 countries: the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Taiwan and South Korea. However, these should extend to the rest of the world in the coming weeks.
