Rail traffic was interrupted on Tuesday evening between Luttre and Charleroi on the Brussels-Charleroi line, following a fire near Courcelles, announced a spokesperson for Infrabel, the network manager. Firefighters dispatched to the scene cut the power.
“Cumulative delays from 7:45 p.m. to 8:52 p.m., then abandoned in Luttre following a brush fire which paralyzed train traffic”, testified Feycal shortly before 9 p.m., via the orange Alert us button. “As a result, we stay at the platform without setting up a bus shuttle”, regrets at that time the traveler.
Around 10 p.m., the fire was brought under control. Traffic on this line is expected to be disrupted until the end of service. SNCB ensures that it has implemented alternatives to connect Charleroi to Luttre.
