The Incheon Tourism Organization announced that it plans to give additional personnel mileage points that are reflected in performance pay points when an employee of Grade 5 or lower gives birth to a second child, and gives preferential treatment through special promotion to the birth of a third child.
It is said that the internal personnel regulations will be revised and implemented from next year following a one-year grace period.
Non-married employees are expressing antipathy, such as ‘it makes no sense to link the promotion system with childbirth policy’ or ‘there is a big gap with reality’.
Employees with children also questioned the effectiveness, saying, ‘It’s too difficult to raise one child, so would you give birth to another child to get a promotion?’
An official from the Incheon Tourism Organization said, “Internal opinions are divided, but in the case of employees with a second child, the promotion system can help consider giving birth to a third child.”
