Kaiser, Sucher: New power team has good width and makes generational changes visible. With Philip Kucher as executive KO, Carinthia’s voice gets even more weight
Klagenfurt – The SPÖ-Carinthia has given its full approval for the personnel renewal presented today by the new SPÖ federal party chairman Andreas Babler and decided by the federal bodies.
“We congratulate Andreas Babler on the excellent selection of personnel and all the new officials on their new tasks. After the emotional and motivating new start in terms of content, the SPÖ with Andreas Babler has now also initiated a refreshing, visible generational change,” emphasizes SPÖ state party chairman Provincial Governor Peter Kaiser, who took part in today’s meetings via video and gave his approval to the personnel decisions for the SPÖ-Carinthia has.
All newly filled positions and functions were entrusted to people who, like Andreas Babler, are genuinely passionate regarding the ideals and values of social democracy. “Together, the SPÖ will make a comeback to the top. We must do this together. Austria, the vast majority of the population, who are being let down by the federal government with their worries and fears, need a strong and united SPÖ that consistently campaigns for fairer and more just living conditions,” emphasizes Kaiser. He is particularly pleased that Philip Kucher, a native of Carinthia, was selected for the important and high-profile function of executive club chairman of the SPÖ parliamentary club. “Philip showed and inspired as a health spokesman and deputy club chairman with strong performances and emotional speeches,” says Kaiser. With Kucher, Carinthia will also gain more weight at the federal level, he will represent the SPÖ-Carinthia and the state with a strong voice.
Like Kaiser, SPÖ regional director Andreas Sucher also congratulates the new team with Philip Kucher: “Andi Babler has put together a team that represents the best mix of youthful freshness, experienced expertise and burning social democratic passion. I am convinced that with this team and with Andi Babler at the helm, the SPÖ can and will grow back into a close-knit community that can make its way back to the top and the Federal Chancellery.”
The scandal surrounding the sale of the Kika/Leiner Group shows how important and necessary a comeback for social democracy is: “It stinks to high heaven! A relentless clarification of the alleged ÖVP-FPÖ scandal deal regarding the sale by Rene Benko and his profit of hundreds of millions of euros, which was also achieved at the expense of taxpayers, with simultaneous job losses for almost 2,000 employees,” concludes Sucher.
