Behind the inconspicuous green portal on Weihburggasse in the first district is a huge labyrinth of saunas, pools, winter gardens, bars and darkrooms. But only the initiated know that. For example those men who sometimes stand in front of the door at night only wrapped in towels, smoke a Tchick and get some fresh air. The Kaiserbründl in downtown Vienna is a men’s sauna where gay men meet every day for sex, drinks and parties. Two of my friends and I meet here for dinner though. We want to know how good it is to dine at Kaiserbründl, a place that isn’t exactly known for it.
