After a wide report revealed that Huawei has been working to get back into the 5G chip market, new sources with access to the company’s plans have returned to talk regarding the matter. This time, it was confirmed that the company has been thinking regarding use the 12 nm process in its future SoCs.

An example of Huawei’s production capacity was the recent launch of the V811 chipset, which shows that the Chinese company already dominates its own chip production.

However, what still holds back Huawei’s development are internal discussions regarding improvements that need to be made for the company to achieve greater efficiency in mass producing these chips.

Performance still remains a serious problem for the Chinese and its engineers have been working to resolve this as quickly as possible.

As expected, as much as it is a big step for Huawei, the launch of these chips is unlikely to be aimed at high-end smartphones. The initial prediction is that proprietary solutions will reach intermediate devices first.

Meanwhile, Huawei must continue to work in partnership with Qualcomm to deliver high-performance flagship devices, even if that means giving up support for the 5G network.

For now, the manufacturer has not commented on the matter. Thus, we emphasize that everything needs to be considered as just another market rumor.

Even so, there are those who believe that the brand can return to producing the Balong 5000 modem to activate 5G in cell phones with Qualcomm chips. This matter has apparently been discussed within the company.

On another front, Huawei has also been working with SMIC to make Kirin chips in an even more advanced process.
