Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner presents awards for particularly outstanding soldiers and militia recruits
Vienna (OTS) – On Monday, June 12, 2023, a festive event on the ‘Day of the Militia 2023’ took place in the Federal Ministry of Defense. During the ceremony, Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner, together with Militia Commissioner Major General Erwin Hameseder, honored the best recruiting associations and militia recruiters of the years 2021 and 2022. The TÜV Austria Academy also awarded militia certification to militiamen. This certification is recognized nationally and internationally and is intended to make skills acquired in the military visible in the civilian sector as well.
“The militia is an essential and integral part of the Austrian Armed Forces – the past has clearly shown that. Therefore, it is of vital importance that more measures are taken in the future to further strengthen the militia. My special thanks go to all militia soldiers for their commitment and their contribution to Austria’s security!”, said Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner.
The ‘Day of the Militia’ takes place annually and is intended to draw attention to the operational readiness of all militiamen, who also act as ambassadors of the values of comprehensive national defense.
militiamen
Militiamen are men and women who have done their basic military or training service and continue to perform a task in the Austrian Armed Forces. As officers, non-commissioned officers or as enlisted men, they are an important part of the defense system and make a significant contribution to the operational readiness of the federal army.
TÜV certification for militiamen
The training and further education of the Austrian Armed Forces enable militia soldiers to fulfill orders to protect the Republic of Austria and its population and facilities with the highest personal commitment. Social, personal, methodological and technical skills are acquired that the militia soldiers can also use in the civilian sector for security, crisis resilience and the sustainable success of companies – in working in teams, in leading teams and accompanying Teams as technical experts. The TÜV AUSTRIA militia certification contributes to making these skills acquired in the military visible in the civilian sector as well. The certificate is nationally and internationally recognized proof of your skills.
