A woman suspected of having shaken a baby in a nursery in Evergem has been placed under an arrest warrant, the East Flanders prosecutor’s office said on Monday.
The prosecution put the file to the instruction last weekend. On Thursday, a baby with shaken baby symptoms was admitted to AZ Sint-Lucas before being transferred to UZ Ghent. A man and a woman were arrested.
The man was presented on Sunday before the investigating judge who released him under conditions. The woman, for her part, was put under arrest warrant following her appearance on Monday. She will be able to request her release in the council chambers within five days.
