The Secretary General of the Asian Clearing Union (ACU) said that the Iranian SEPAM system will replace SWIFT in trading transactions. This was announced today, June 12, by Iranian journalist Khayal Muazzin.
The Secretary General of the Asian Clearing Union (ACU) said that Iran’s SEPAM financial messaging system will replace SWIFT starting next month.
Farhad Morsali noted that Iranian SEPAM has been adopted by ACU members as the internal financial messaging system.
He said it would take six months for his own messaging system to be ready.
In the meantime, ACU members must replace SWIFT with SEPAM, for which Iran will charge.
