Swiss coach Marcel Koller revealed, on Sunday evening, that he had told the players that scoring a goal in the second leg of the Champions League final was the key to winning the title, which was achieved.
Al-Ahly returned to the CAF Champions League title from Casablanca, following a 1-1 draw, following the 2-1 victory in Cairo.

He continued, “The players played a great match, but we needed new energy, which happened through changes. The substitutes changed the team’s form and we missed many opportunities, and unfortunately we might have scored more goals.”
And he continued, “We made a lot of mistakes by going backwards, and we did not play as we wanted, which made the difference with us in the first half.”
Koller’s comment on what Hussein Al-Shahat did
And he concluded regarding Hussein Al-Shahat’s nervousness during his substitution, and he answered, “During the match, some feelings come out, and the next day the player forgets everything. It is a momentary emotion on the field.”
And he added, “I am very happy as the first Swiss to achieve the title, and I am very proud to share this title with Al-Ahly. Many doubted us at the beginning, but we achieved the title in the end.”
