At least 13 people were shot, stabbed or hit by cars during a crowd in Syracuse, New York, on Sunday.
Four people were hit by firearm projectiles, five suffered lacerations and four were struck by vehicles, Syracuse Police Lt. Matthew Malinowski said. Fortunately, all the victims are out of danger.
The authorities were first called to go to the intersection of Davis and Massena streets because of gunshots heard shortly following midnight, in the area where a gathering of regarding 400 people was taking place.
Law enforcement had to force their way through the crowd to discover multiple victims. Some had gun or stab wounds, while others appear to have been hit by cars trying to flee the scene.
Syracuse police did not say if any arrests were made or if any suspects were identified. Moreover, we do not know for the moment why the crowd was gathered there and what triggered the violence that took place in the middle of the night.
