Serious accident in a motorcycle mountain race in Julbach

One record follows the next in the motorcycle hill climb, which is taking place in Julbach this weekend. The sports event, which is also a European race, was overshadowed by an accident during training yesterday followingnoon: Emanuel Reisinger (38) from Taufkirchen in Upper Austria crashed badly in a curve with his Yamaha. “Unfortunately, it was a driving error of his own. That really surprised us organizers, because he is one of the best drivers,” says organizer and chairman of MSC Julbach Bernhard Deschka in an interview with OÖN.

The Yamaha was completely destroyed in the fall, Reisinger himself was injured so badly that he was no longer able to speak. The rescue workers took the 38-year-old to a hospital with the emergency helicopter, where he was operated on as quickly as possible. The organizers said that Reisinger was seriously injured but not in mortal danger. “We have received little information so far, but the doctors assume that he will be completely healthy once more. And that is the most important thing,” says Deschka.
