Update (06/11/2023) – GS

In mid-May, NVIDIA finally made the new GPUs official GeForce RTX 4060 and 4060 Ti. At the time, the manufacturer revealed that the upcoming RTX 4060 with 8 GB of VRAM would hit the international market from July this year, but it seems that the launch ended up being anticipated.

According to leaker MEGAsizeGPU, who is known for his GPU leaks, NVIDIA’s new entry-level graphics card will hit retail at the end of June. This is obviously good news for most mainstream gamers who are waiting to buy a high-end GPU at an affordable price.

The new GeForce RTX 4060 has an MSRP of US$299, which is cheaper than the price of its predecessor, the RTX 3060, which had an MSRP of US$329 at launch.

For the GeForce RTX 4060, NVIDIA is expected to use the AD107-400-A1 GPU, the fully enabled AD107 Ada matrix. Note that the same configuration is used by the GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU. The chip is expected to have 3,072 CUDA cores and 8GB of GDDR6 memory running at memory speeds of 17Gbps on a 128-bit bus interface. This gives the card a bandwidth of 272GB/s, which is effectively rated at 453GB/s or 26% more than the RTX 3060. This is due to the 24MB of L2 cache.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 should end up with a 35% lower TGP than its predecessor, the RTX 3060 12GB. The card is believed to have a TGP of 115W, but actual in-game power consumption should be around 110W with idle power rated at 7W and video playback power rated at 11W. The board will be available in several custom models at launch, but there won’t be a Founders Edition variant for it.

The graphics card will bring Ada class-leading GPU efficiency, ray tracing and AI performance at a more affordable price point and will also feature all the advantages of DLSS 3.

So, what will be the price of this beauty in Brazil?

Boasting all the advancements of the NVIDIA Ada Lovelace architecture – including DLSS 3, third-generation Ray Tracing at high frame rates, and an eighth-generation NVIDIA encoder (NVENC) with AV1 encoding, the new RTX 4060 lineup is described by the brand as “the best graphics cards for 1080p gaming”.

The line consists of the following models:

  • GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8GBavailable from Wednesday, May 24, by $399 dollars (~R$ 1.990).
  • GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GBavailable in July, from $499 dollars (~R$ 2.490).
  • GeForce RTX 4060available in July, from $299 dollars (~R$ 1.490).

NVIDIA points out that prices for the Brazilian market will be announced soon.

In addition to the new lineup announcement, NVIDIA also revealed that DLSS technology is now supported in over 300 games and software available to gamers and content creators, including the addition of DLSS 3 to D5 Render and more. The most anticipated games like: The Lord of the Rings: Gollum and Diabo IV will be next to include DLSS 3. A DLSS 3 plugin for Unreal Engine 5 will also be released soon.

NVIDIA DLSS uses artificial intelligence and GeForce RTX Tensor Cores to increase frame rates. DLSS 3 combines DLSS Super Resolution, DLSS Frame Generation and NVIDIA Reflex technology to multiply performance while maintaining optimal responsiveness.

So, what do you think of the prices of NVIDIA’s new line of GPUs?
