A Dutchman came across a collection of 20’s and 30’s cars in the French countryside. Nobody knows why they were abandoned.

Edou Hofstra, a car enthusiast, flushed out a collection of cars amazing in the French countryside. These vehicles have obviously been abandoned there for years. Their particularity: they come, for the most part, from the 1920s or 1930s. This Dutch explorer made this discovery while he was walking.

He then saw several old barns and farms in the distance, which looked abandoned. Curious, he approached the place, entered the field and found several old cars left there. Most of these vehicles are in poor condition. But the show was impressive all the same.

Looking more closely at the cars he came across, he notices that many of them have been left to suffer the effects of the weather. A significant number of them had been parked outside buildings noticed earlier by the explorer. Another part of the collection, however, benefited from the protection of abandoned farms and barns.

“When we got there, we had already spotted a lot of abandoned cars. Many of these cars were simply left outside. There were many small garages for cars and some of these garages had no roof or only had a small piece of roof”explained Edou Hofstra, as reported by the newspaper The Sun.

“We don’t know why they were abandoned”

Beside the cars left outside stood two large buildings. “There were two large buildings, one of which was locked, and there was no entrance. Looking into a small hole, I saw two cars inside, which was not very surprising”explained the explorer. “The larger building was open and filled with many cars and other objects. The cars there were in much better condition than those outside.”

According to Edou Hofstra, the scene with these abandoned cars was impressive. “It was really nice to take pictures there, and outside, where there were also a lot of abandoned cars – it was really beautiful. We don’t know why they were abandoned, maybe it was a hobby of the owner”.
