Rummenigge confirmed Guerreiro’s move to Bayern Munich

“We have now got good players in Guerreiro and Laimer,” said the long-time CEO of Munich at DAZN on Saturday. The media had previously reported an agreement with Guerreiro. The change from ÖFB team player Konrad Laimer from RB Leipzig has been official since Friday.

In addition, Rummenigge sees a need for action in the German soccer champions, especially in the storm center. “You lost Lewandowski, that was at least 50 goals in all competitions that you missed. Something will have to be done regarding that,” said the 67-year-old. He and Honorary President Uli Hoeneß would initially participate in squad planning as members of a small group until a new sports director was found. “As soon as we have a sports director or sports director, Uli and I will also retire. We will examine things critically from time to time, that’s necessary.”

The Munich team parted ways with CEO Oliver Kahn and sports director Hasan Salihamidzic immediately following winning their eleventh championship title in a row. Rummenigge then moved to the supervisory board, with Jan-Christian Dreesen succeeding Kahn. “We’ll do it calmly,” said Rummenigge on the search for a successor to Salihamidzic. The most important criterion for the new sports director is his “quality”. The TV broadcaster Sky reported on Saturday that RB Leipzig’s Max Eberl is still the favorite.
