Former MP Nasser Qandil tweeted, on his Twitter account, a writer: “About the debate regarding the presidential election: Does anyone believe that in the end there will be no president for the republic?”

And he continued, “Does anyone believe that in the end the president will be a declaration of crushing and omitting a major party in the acute conflict now taking place, or that the end, whatever it may be, will come in a settlement formula similar to the history of Lebanon, with no victor or vanquished, and each party can say we have won?”

Qandil explained, “This does not mean that the leaders sell the torment of their fans, but rather it means the wisdom of the leaders, even if they start from interest calculations. The wisdom is that the country cannot tolerate an irreversible division, and its losses to the country, no matter how profitable it appears, are greater than any profit.” He added, “This means that The extremist public is foolish in all aspects of political and sectarian positioning.”

And he continued, “Therefore, sharp language, extremism, and enmities remain for those who fall into it and others with them, a dilemma, wound, and pain without reason, and that the position is on a position of honor for its owner, but the mind and polite tongue are dignity, patriotism, and human capacity.”

Qandil said: “Discuss and differ, live the blessing of reason and morals, accept the right to differ, learn from the arguments of your opponents the art of argument, and search for new arguments for a new round. This is a rare school that they exploited before it ends, and it will not end with what is in your mind with a definite victory and a definite defeat.”

And he continued, “Therefore, keep affection as an uninterrupted thread and national partnership as a resource that does not dry up, and remember that following a twenty-year war we ran through barriers kissing each other hoping to turn the page of pain and that we liken each other to genius and savagery together, and that we do not know how to live without each other and without our rivalries, so keep it noble in order to bear it.” “.

Qandil concluded his tweet by saying, “I love you all.”
