For 50% of Spaniards, financial security is one of the key factors in their current well-being. On World Wellness Day, the data from the report ‘The Future of Wellbeing’, prepared by Essity, reflect that being physically well and having enough time are also important factors for citizens. Essity, a leading global company in hygiene products and solutions for the health and well-being of people, has carried out this study with the aim of understanding how Spanish society conceives its well-being and life satisfaction. For Elena Galbis, director of Health & Medical at Essity Iberia, the results show that “well-being is not understood without mental health or economic stability. It is also interesting to see how different age groups have different concepts of well-being. For For example, young people between the ages of 18 and 25 prioritize having a low level of stress and rest time following economic position, while people between the ages of 46 and 65 give the same importance to financial security as to to be free from discomfort”. According to data from the report, 2 out of 10 people say they are going through an episode of anxiety or depression and 1 out of 4 people consider that one of the main threats to their well-being is feeling alone. “What this report has allowed us is to see what the diagnosis is and focus on improving the quality of life,” explains the Essity spokeswoman. The report ‘The Future of Well-being’ outlines some challenges that we will face as a society in the coming years, such as the growing aging of the population and the importance of accompanying non-professional caregivers in their day-to-day lives, from a emotional dimension, which goes beyond the actual performance of their duties. Undoubtedly, some very interesting conclusions to continue working for the well-being of all.-Editorial-
