The quality of photos on WhatsApp has always been limited for users, but that should change soon. Indeed, the Meta group has presented a new feature for its application which should allow you to send photos in HD quality.
On WhatsApp, the quality of the images that are sent are systematically compressed compared to the original. This is done with speed in mind and to limit data usage. Nevertheless, for several days now, thanks to the WaBetaInfo site, we have been able to take a look at the beta of the next version of WhatsApp. A version which made it possible to send images in a quality close to the original.
In this new update, it will now be possible to choose the resolution with which you want to send the image. We can therefore share it with standard or HD quality. The choice will therefore depend on what you decide to optimize: the speed or the resolution of the image.
And it would seem that this update is imminent. Indeed, although the various beta versions, especially on iOS, have hinted at this possibility for several months, it was not yet available to beta testers. It is now done, which suggests an upcoming arrival for users.
It is however important to note that the quality of the image will remain slightly compressed, but much less than in the standard version which will always remain available and selected by default.
This novelty is part of a policy of complete renovation of the application. Over the past few weeks, Meta company announcements, rumors as well as beta releases have revealed lots of changes to the app.
It is now possible to edit messages following sending them, and the same WaBetaInfo site that informs us of these changes in terms of photo quality recently told us regarding possible modifications in the WhatsApp keyboard. On the other hand, WhatsApp has also tested tabs and channels features, bringing the app closer to rivals Telegram and Twitter.
