The MR regains the lead in the Brussels Region, at least in the voting intentions of the “Grand Barometer” Le Soir-RTL-Ipsos published Friday evening, while in Wallonia the PS remains clearly the first party, according to this quarterly survey.
It gives Wallonia the winning PS, with a comfortable first place at 25.7% of voting intentions, the best socialist score since the legislative elections of 2019, during which Paul Magnette’s party obtained 26.1% of the vote. The MR is left behind at 19.8%, just ahead of the PTB, which is at 18.9% of voting intentions.
Ecolo is already campaigning: the party announces its heads of local lists before everyone else
In Brussels, the margins are much tighter. Four parties are competing within the margin of error. For the moment, it is the MR which dominates with 19.9% of the voting intentions, ahead of the PS (18.6%), Ecolo, in sharp recovery at 18.1%, and the PTB (17.6 %).
In Flanders, the Vlaams Belang remains the leading party, a place that the far-right formation has only twice abandoned since the 2019 elections. But it has gone from 25% during the last barometer, last March, to 22.7% of voting intentions. The N-VA is hot on its heels, at 21.8%. In third place, the Socialists of Vooruit continue to progress, to 16.8%.
This Le Soir-RTL Info-Ipsos-Het Laatste Nieuws-VTM survey was carried out from May 29 to June 6, among 2,600 Belgians representing a “representative sample” of the population. The maximum margin of error is +-3.1 in Wallonia, +-3.1 in Flanders and +-4.0 in Brussels.
