The Lord of the Rings: Chronicles of Middle-earth expansion will incorporate a card that represents the One Ring. This card was made in a single copy and the auctions to acquire it have already started.
As we know, playing cards now represent a financial market in their own right that attracts a lot of covetousness. As such, Pokémon cards break all records with some models estimated at several tens or even several hundred thousand dollars.
In this area, Magic cards are no exception. Last March, an extremely rare Lotus Noire card was acquired for an amount of 540,000 dollars during an auction. And this already astronomical amount might soon be beaten with the arrival of a new extension within the Magic the Gathering game. Entitled The Lord of the Rings: Chronicles of Middle-earth, this expansion, available on June 23, will offer sets of cards that represent, among other things, places and iconic characters from the saga.
Among these cards, we will find the Ring created by Sauron in different forms, but the editor has also incorporated a representation of it which will be, like the Ring, unique. Indeed, this card with a particular design was made in a single copy and will be inserted in the English boosters of the set.
The craze was not long in coming since the content creator Dave and Adam’s Card World has already made it known in a tweet that he was ready to give 1 million dollars to own the card and therefore the One Ring.
From June 23, the hunt to find this card will therefore begin. It remains to be seen who will find it and whether it will be a question of reselling it or keeping it by putting it in a collection.
