The wildfires in Canada are becoming a problem for some NFL teams!

A dystopian picture is emerging over New York. The skyscrapers of the metropolis are enveloped in orange air. This is due to the devastating forest fires in Canada, which are causing New York’s worst air quality in decades – with consequences for some NFL-Teams.

On Thursday, the New York Jets and New York Giants were unable to practice. Originally, the teams wanted to hold their training in the hall, but that didn’t work either: According to “ESPN”, a light mist penetrated the premises.

The Giants’ offensive coordinator Mike Kafka said following the training was abandoned: “These are wild times. I haven’t seen anything like it – I really haven’t. Wednesday it was orange outside.”

The New York Giants coaches, players and team doctors agreed to cancel all training sessions for the week. Head coach Brian Daboll (48): “We’ll wait until the situation has calmed down and start once more next week.”

Other NFL teams are also affected

The capital Washington is also in the area affected by the smoke development. The Washington Commanders might hold their training at the team’s facility in Ashburn, Virginia.

Head Coach Ron Rivera explained: “We looked at the air quality index. We spoke to the doctors and medical staff and asked what options we have in terms of our training today, tomorrow and probably next week. We will continue to monitor the situation.”

“If we can avoid training indoors, we will,” he said. “However, if air quality becomes too worrying, we will certainly move indoors.”

Additionally, the Philadelphia Eagles have decided to hold their practice indoors.
