ABU DHABI, 9th June, 2020 (WAM) — The Industry Platform, the unified platform in the UAE to support national products, announced the signing of an agreement to establish and program the first factory of its kind for 3D printers and educational robots in the capital, Abu Dhabi, in partnership with the international company, Omega Future.
The signing came on the sidelines of the second session of the “Make in the UAE Forum” organized by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology in cooperation with the Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi and ADNOC Company, in the presence of His Excellency Osama Amir Fadl, Assistant Undersecretary for the Industrial Accelerators Sector in the Ministry, and Arafat Al Yafei, Executive Director of the Development Bureau. industry, of the department.

The agreement was signed by Kardous Mohammed bin Salim bin Kardous Al Ameri, Executive Vice President of the Sina platform, and Jaroslav Allink, CEO of Omega Future. This agreement comes in line with the objectives of the national strategy for industry and advanced technology in the country, which supports strengthening the country’s position as a global destination for pioneering future industries, and in line with the strategic vision of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to consolidate its position as an industrial center that is considered the most competitive in the region.
His Excellency Mohammed bin Salem bin Kardous Al Ameri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the “Sinaa Platform”, confirmed that the platform is mainly interested in attracting investments, advanced technologies and solutions of the fourth industrial revolution, in line with the strategic vision of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to consolidate its position as an advanced and competitive industrial center at the regional level, as 3D printing as well as the educational robotics industry is one of these pillars, and promotes the provision of products quickly and with high efficiency.
Al Ameri said: “The Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the UAE support all the ingredients for the success of industrial projects, and also provide investors with the appropriate environment for the growth of their businesses. A factory for 3D printers and robots, which are fields that will serve the industrial and commercial sector, as the first factory of its kind under the umbrella of a strategic partnership and under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, and the Industrial Development Office.
Al-Amiri explained that the factory will rely on local primary raw materials, to serve the vision of an industry platform that focuses on the localization of all factory technologies, and their conformity with the approved standard specifications. In promoting economic growth, robots will also be manufactured and programmed locally according to uses, and we will focus in the first stage on educational robots, and we will develop an integrated educational program targeting schools to train and teach students how to manufacture and program robots.
He noted that this factory will help efforts to localize technology in the country, and support the sustainability of investment in this vital field, as industrial investors in the UAE and Abu Dhabi Emirate have suitable infrastructure, advanced technologies, facilities, training programs and other incentives, and all these efforts support the growth of qualitative industries. It represents an important opportunity for local and foreign companies to establish more successful partnerships. 3D printing also contributes to supporting environmental sustainability efforts by reducing waste and material use, enhancing energy efficiency, encouraging innovative designs, and reducing waste in raw materials.
