The world of testnets is interesting, fun, educational, there is not much risk involved, and you can earn money with it in the form of airdrops. Now, following a new announcement, layer 2 called Scroll, which will launch the mainnet at the end of the summer, has become interesting. With this, the last big obstacle before an airdrop can be removed.
Those who are just getting to know cryptocurrencies, smart contracts, altcoins – and the revenue-generating airdrop world – should try the testnets. Where you don’t have to invest money, or just a few pennies, because the activity is not live, it takes place on a trial network, with play money. Of course, you have to invest in work, but it can also be fun, while you can learn a lot.

It was also announced that the layer 2, i.e. second-layer, Ethereum-compatible blockchain called Scroll switched from the testnet to the mainnet, i.e. the primary, live network, in August.
Airdrop is always uncertain
What intensified the speculations that maybe there will be an airdrop, i.e. a part of the coins to be created will be distributed among the users for free. Although it is not certain whether it will be right when the mainnet is introduced, or shortly following. As with Arbitrum, for example, this happened much later, many months following the start of the mainnet. But it’s very likely that sooner or later there will be an airdrop, and whoever does it now a testnet tasks, is active on the network, there is a chance that you will receive it. The rollups are coming
Although it is possible that later the testnet activity will have to be supplemented with new tasks performed with real money, as has happened with other blockchains. In this way, the two will earn money and generate income together. If anything, this can never be certain. By the way, Scroll is one of the important layer 2 solutions among the currently developed Ethereum alternatives. It is not necessarily the first, but it is usually among the first five according to various top lists.
Another important or interesting testnet is zkSync, the second-tier Ethereum blockchain (zero knowledge rollup) currently mentioned in the first place testnet. It can be interesting even though there is already a mainnet here (zkSync Era). But they may still give you points for the testnet, so it will factor into who will get free coins and who won’t, and who will get how much.
Between a trillion and zillion dollars
Therefore, many airdrop experts recommend that we perform the testnet tasks even if we are already active on the mainnet. However, testnet activity alone is probably not enough to sweep the free coins, but it can be an important addition.
