Semien went 0-for-4 to end the longest streak of its kind this season in the majors and the longest by an infielder of his career.
It was the second-best streak in club history, behind Gabe Kapler’s 28-hit game in 2000.
St. Louis also snapped its own five-game losing streak and ended the Rangers’ five-game losing streak.
Jordan Hicks (1-3) pitched the scoreless seventh inning for the win, and Ryan Helsley finished for seven saves in 11 chances.
Jon Gray (6-2) pitched his second career complete game but took the loss to end a six-game winning streak. He allowed four hits, walked one and dished out a season-high 12 strikeouts.
