Anyone using an iPhone, iPad, Mac and/or Apple Watch must have already come across the app Look for (Find My).
Through it, you can search and track your friends/relatives (provided with proper authorization, of course), your devices logged into the same Apple ID and your items, such as AirTags.
The search for AirTag and other compatible products/accessories is only possible thanks to the Search app network. But what exactly would that be? That’s what we’re going to unravel in the following paragraphs! ????
The Buscar app network is completely encrypted, anonymous and uses the billions (yes, billions!) of Apple devices spread around the world (iPhones, iPads, Macs and Apple Watches), through Bluetooth technology, to detect these items/devices and communicate with each other, thus informing the approximate location them — information that can be viewed by the Buscar app.
According to the company, not even it can see your location or that of your devices/accessories. Interestingly, the Buscar app network does not need to be activated by the user when configuring a device, as this is done by default.
You can even deactivate this network, but this is not recommended if you want to find your device if it is lost or stolen, for example.
The cool thing is that Apple not only allows you to track your Apple devices or AirTags on the network, but also compatible accessories from partner brands that are compatible with this network. Examples of this abound on the market: there are options from eufy, Chipolo, backpacks integrated with the feature and even cheaper trackers that can break a good branch!
Everything, of course, following some specifications and privacy functions made available by Apple. As a result, these products receive the seal “Works with Apple Find My” “Look for it in his box when you go buy some.” ????
