The Samsung world is folding: Samsung has prematurely shared a press release confirming the launch of the next foldables. The event will take place much earlier than usual this year.
Rumors regarding the Galaxy Z Fold and Flip 5 have been around for a long time. However, this will soon come to an end, because Samsung has officially confirmed the launch of the two devices. A press release regarding the upcoming Unpacked event was published online, but it has since been deleted. In this it was mentioned that the “foldable devices of the next generation” will be announced as part of the presentation. The event takes place in COEX Convention-Center held in Seoul. Rumors so far spoke of July 26, 2023 as a launch date, the exact date has not yet been confirmed by Samsung.
The next foldables are supposed to be an upgrade to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 „for Galaxy“ received, which is already used in the Galaxy S23 (test: S23 Ultra). While the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will most likely hardly differ from its predecessor, we can expect a clear redesign of the Galaxy Z Flip 5. After all, the second display on the front will probably be significantly larger than was previously the case. Samsung is catching up with Oppo and Motorola. The additional area should also make the display more versatile and, above all, more useful.
In addition, Samsung will also Galaxy Tab S9-Serie as well as the next smartwatch generation. Also at the Galaxy Watch 6 und 6 Classic some innovations are suspected, but the new Classic model is particularly interesting. Finally, the rotating bezel that was missing on the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro (test) returns.
