For this, Defender has created a bespoke Defender model to showcase one of the most famous trophies in international sport: the Webb Ellis Cup. The specially modified Defender Hybrid Electric was designed and built by Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations division in Coventry, England. The Rugby World Cup 2023 Trophy Car has been designed to safely showcase the Webb Ellis Cup and promote the Defender brand’s strides towards electrification. The bespoke trophy display case, located at the rear of the car, has been modified to incorporate state-of-the-art technology to ensure optimal conditions. A minimalist livery in the colors of the Rugby World Cup France 2023 and its partners has been applied to the bonnet and the doors.
Philippe Robbrecht, President and Executive Director Jaguar Land Rover France:“We are delighted to be organizing the Trophy Tour across the host country ahead of Rugby World Cup 2023. Rugby embodies determination, integrity, courage and performance – core values for Defender. Our partnership and the bespoke Rugby World Cup 2023 Trophy Car celebrates these shared values. We look forward to hosting current and future Defender customers on the Trophy Tour over the summer. »
