“As the elevator doors stuck in the elevator shaft were once morest a wall, it was decided to call on our RISC (Rescue In Safe Conditions) team, which specializes in alpine evacuation techniques”, explains Walter Derieuw, the spokesperson for the Brussels fire brigade.

The whole operation took place calmly and there were no problems to report. “The students were impressed by the means implemented but behaved courageously and they followed the instructions (explained by gestures) to the letter”, emphasizes Walter Derieuw. The origin of the technical incident remains to be established.
