During an interview for Últimas Noticias, the general manager of Inameh Meteorology, Ángel Graterol, pointed out that the fifth tropical wave is on its way, but it is too early to know exactly what day it will be over the country, “everything depends on its speed displacement,” he said.
He commented that “at this moment the fourth is passing, we already have a train of tropical waves over the Central Tropical Atlantic, they have been forming and are passing over the Caribbean Sea, to the north of our territory, and in some way or another they have been affecting”.
He emphasized that not all those that form will leave precipitation on the country, but that everything will depend on the atmospheric dynamics that are in the territory.
“Venezuela is already framed in its rainy season, the intertropical convergence zone is very active and when these systems pass through the north, this rainfall situation originates,” he said.
The general manager of Inameh Meteorology stated that the institution is constantly monitoring the more than 60 tropical waves that are planned for this year, and of which seven have already formed.
Number five is active in French Guyana, with a travel speed of 23 kilometers per hour, Inameh pointed out on his twitter account.
The six and seven are already formed
The first is located over the Central Tropical Atlantic, with a travel speed of 19 km/h, and the last one to the southeast of Cape Verde, moving at 23 km/h, the entity announced.
cyclones
From June 1 to November 30 there will be the season of tropical cyclones over the North Atlantic, Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico, but not all of them will affect the country, said the general manager of Inameh Meteorology, Ángel Graterol.
“The advantage we have is that once these systems form over the Central Tropical Atlantic we can monitor them and we have a window of approximately three to four days to see if it affects the territory or not,” he said. He added that in August and September is when there is more training for them.
“The Atlantic is the highway for these tropical cyclones. In Venezuela we are on the shoulder, but for now it is impossible to talk regarding how many might affect us,” said Graterol.
